Install the plugin
It supports Zotero 7, 8 and 9. Point it at your Agent Bayes account with an API key from your settings.
Select papers and include them
Pick items or a collection in Zotero and add them to a knowledge base. The plugin shows the estimated cost before anything runs.
Ask questions of what you have collected
Indexing runs in the background. From then on the agent retrieves from those papers and cites them with author, year and printed page range.

Native plugin, not an importer
Include papers in a knowledge base from inside the Zotero interface. No export step, no re-uploading, no second copy of your library to keep in sync by hand.
Your metadata comes with it
Existing Zotero metadata syncs into the document record, so citations are attributed properly from the first run rather than after a cleanup pass.
Cost shown before you commit
The plugin displays your credit balance and the estimated indexing cost for the selection you are about to add. No surprises after the fact.
It notices when things drift
Sync divergence between your library and your knowledge bases is detected, so the corpus the agent searches stays the one you think it is.
Zotero stays the source of truth
Agent Bayes does not want to own your library. Keep collecting, tagging and organising where you already do it.
Same API underneath
The plugin authenticates with an API key from your account settings, and that same access is available to you for scripting your own ingestion.
What Agent Bayes does not do
- It does not replace Zotero, and it is not trying to. Your library, your collections and your reading workflow stay where they are.
- It does not index your whole library automatically. You choose which papers are worth the indexing cost, because indexing spends real credits.
- It does not sync your Zotero notes and annotations into the mindmap. What it uses is the document text and its metadata.
The second one is a deliberate design choice. Automatic indexing of a two thousand item library would be an expensive surprise, so the plugin asks first and shows the price.

Which Zotero versions are supported?

Do I have to move my library?
No. Zotero stays where your library lives. The plugin adds selected items into an Agent Bayes knowledge base for indexing and retrieval, and your organising happens in Zotero as before.
Will it re-index the same paper twice?
The plugin tracks what has already been included and detects divergence between your library and your knowledge bases, so you are not paying twice for the same document.
What about papers that are not in English?
Indexing writes structured summaries in English whatever the source language, so a multilingual Zotero library becomes one searchable corpus.
What does indexing cost?
About 20 credits for an average 20 to 30 page PDF, with the estimate shown in the plugin before you commit. The free plan gives you 200 one-time credits after email verification and holds up to five files.
